Since Microsoft likes to reveal new Xbox Game Pass games in two week batches, it’s impossible to say what the rest of the year will hold for the service with 100% certainty. Even so, March 2022 is so stacked for Xbox Game Pass that it’s easy to see that this month is going to be one of the best for the service all year. It may very well be topped at some point, but that will be a difficult challenge, to say the least.

Here are all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass for March 2022 that have been confirmed so far. Keep in mind that there will likely be even more games than this since Microsoft hasn’t even revealed all of the new games coming in the second half of March.
New Xbox Game Pass Games for March 2022
Far: Changing Tides (Cloud/Console/PC) - March 1 Microsoft Flight Simulator (Cloud) - March 1 Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 (Console/PC) - March 3 Kentucky Route Zero (Cloud/Console/PC) - March 10 Lawn Mowing Simulator (Xbox One) - March 10 Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (Cloud/Console/PC) - March 10 Young Souls (Cloud/Console/PC) - March 10 Shredders - March 17 A Memoir Blue - March 24 Crusader Kings 3 - March 29 Weird West - March 31
The new Xbox Game Pass games for March 2022 are already off to an incredible start thanks to three new additions to the service. The first day one Xbox Game Pass game added in March 2022 was Far: Changing Tides, which joined the lineup on March 1. Far: Changing Tides earned strong reviews from critics and so anyone looking for a high-quality indie game to play should definitely give it a look. It was joined on March 1 by the Cloud version of Microsoft Flight Simulator, another critically-acclaimed game.
Then on March 3, Xbox Game Pass subscribers were treated to the addition of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13, an Xbox 360-era Final Fantasy game. While the Final Fantasy 13 games are not the most popular that the series has to offer, it’s still nice to be able to play through the entire Final Fantasy 13 trilogy with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, and that’s now possible thanks to Lightning Returns’ addition to the service.
March 10, meanwhile, is set to be one of the biggest days for Xbox Game Pass in the entire month. That day will not only see the addition of a brand-new, day one Xbox Game Pass game, but it will also see the addition of some acclaimed older titles as well. Starting March 10, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play through the entirety of the award-winning episodic adventure game Kentucky Route Zero, plus they can check out the Xbox One version of Lawn Mowing Simulator.
March 10 will also see the addition of Guardians of the Galaxy to the Xbox Game Pass service. Guardians of the Galaxy released last year to mostly positive reviews, with many critics praising the game’s story, writing, and character interactions. It’s only been out for five months, and so while it’s not a day one game, its addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup is still significant and gives the subscription considerable value.

But again, day one games are the bread and butter of Xbox Game Pass, and so that’s why fans should be especially excited to play Young Souls on March 10. Young Souls was previously released for Google Stadia, but it’s just now making its Xbox debut, and it’s doing so on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. Young Souls is a co-op beat ’em up game that has earned a great deal of praise from critics, and so it will be great to see it reach a wider audience by coming to Game Pass.
Those are all the games that have been released or confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in the first half of March 2022. Those games alone would make March 2022 an especially exciting time for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, but there’s even more to look forward to in the second half of the month. Microsoft has yet to detail every single game coming to Xbox Game Pass in the second half of March, but previous announcements have confirmed that there are at least four day one games on the way.
On March 17, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to the release of day one snowboarding game Shredders. Shredders was previously expected to release for Xbox Game Pass in February, but its release date was pushed back to March.
A week after Shredders joins Xbox Game Pass on March 17, A Memoir Blue will join the lineup on March 24. A Memoir Blue is a narrative-driven indie game published by Annapurna Interactive that looks like it will greatly appeal to fans of video games as art. It’s been described as an “interactive” poem and will examine a relationship between a mother and her daughter.
Five days later on March 29, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the console version of Crusader Kings 3 on the very day that it launches. Crusader Kings 3 is a grand strategy game that previously released for PC and earned widespread critical acclaim in the process, taking home numerous awards and standing as one of the highest-rated strategy games ever made. Crusader Kings 3 is finally making its console debut come March 29, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play it for no more than the price of their subscription.
And finally, March 31 will end the month with a bang as Xbox Game Pass is getting day one access to Weird West. Weird West is an isometric ation-RPG from WolfEye Studios, a team comprised of former Arkane devs who worked on projects like Dishonored. Weird West has shown a ton of promise so far, and it will definitely be interesting to see if it lives up to the hype and the high bar set by its developer’s former games come launch on March 31.
And the thing is, this isn’t even a comprehensive list of all the games coming to Xbox Game Pass in March 2022, highlighting just how impressive this month’s offerings are for the service. Fans can expect Microsoft to reveal even more games coming to Xbox Game Pass in March 2022 a little later in the month; the reveal for the second half of the month usually happens around the 15th.
While March 2022 could very well be the biggest month of the year for Xbox Game Pass, there’s plenty for fans to look forward to in the near future as well. While the full lineup for April 2022 hasn’t been revealed at the time of this writing, Xbox Game Pass subscribers do know that they have PlayStation-published MLB The Show 22 to look forward to come its launch next month.
