After watching Mayweather fight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in a laugher of an exhibition bout for the Japanese mixed martial arts promotion Rizin in Tokyo on New Year’s Eve last year, Pacquiao has signed a deal with Rizin as well, as reported by Sky Sports.

Rizin’s chief executive officer Nobuyuki Sakakibara broke the news via his Twitter account Sunday, vowing that he’ll elaborate on Pacquiao’s signing soon.
As mentioned in the tweet above, Sakakibara makes reference to Pacquiao being “involved” in the Rizin 15 event, which is April 21. Whether it’s in a similar capacity to Mayweather’s Dec. 31 first-round exhibition destruction of Nasukawa remains to be seen.
The 40-year-old Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KOs) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Adrien Broner in January.
