The alternate telecast, which shows Peyton Manning and Eli Manning breaking down the game from their home studios, has already followed last year’s fantastic debut with more viral moments this season. (Such as the elder Manning calling timeout 62 times before the Broncos’ ill-fated 64-yard field goal attempt against Seattle in Week 1.)
That was a massive victory for ESPN, which used the same weekend to debut the new broadcast team of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, fresh from their move over from Fox. There should be plenty more storylines and opportunities for excellent TV between Dallas and New York.

Oh, and more insight from the Manning brothers’ Week 3 guests.
The Week 1 slate certainly wasn’t short of star power, including the likes of Shannon Sharpe, Joel McHale and Giants running back Saquon Barkley (who overcame the Manningcast curse by helping New York to a 19-16 victory over the Panthers in Week 2).
Here’s a look at the guest list for the Week 3 airing of “Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli” during the Giants and Cowboys game.

Manningcast guests for Week 3
Jimmy Johnson, former Cowboys coach Pat McAfee, former Colts punter Tracy Morgan, actor/comedian
Jimmy Johnson
Johnson is the Cowboys-centered guest for the week, having served as Dallas’ second-ever coach in franchise history, from 1989 through 1993. His stint includes two straight Super Bowl-winning teams in 1992 and 1993, the latter of which is the second-most recent Super Bowl in franchise history (Barry Switzer won one in his second season in 1995).
Johnson, it should be noted, was formerly teammates with owner Jerry Jones at Arkansas. It will be worth watching what he says of Jones and the current state of the Cowboys.

Pat McAfee
McAfee, a former Colts punter, has become one of the most prominent media personalities in both the NFL and college football in recent years. He undoubtedly will cut up with the Manning brothers while providing insight into the game — likely paying special attention to the punter play. “For the brand,” as he always says.
Tracy Morgan
Morgan will follow Joel McHale in Week 1 as the non-football (and Giants-specific) guest for Week 3. The die-hard New York fan has appeared on “The Eli Manning Show” in years past, speaking with the former Giants quarterback on several occasions.
